The Express Entry System

This is the most popular immigration program and since its inception in 2015, it has been the most common economic class immigration program through which new immigrants come to Canada and gain permanent residence.

It is also one of the fastest immigration programs in Canada as it takes about six months to process.

The Express Entry System is an online immigration program through which skilled workers can immigration to Canada and start working.

In this system, you will have to create an Express Entry profile where you will be required to meet some requirements and these requirements are the criteria for giving you a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

You will have to fill in some factors like age, work experience, educational qualification, provincial nomination, language fluency test result, proof of funds etc.

You will be expected to complete your profile within 60 days and after that you will be placed in a pool alongside some other candidates and a draw will be conducted to determine applicants that will receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Remember we said that the requirements you fill are criteria for giving you a CRS score, so after you have been given a CRS score and placed in a pool, a draw will be conducted and in the draw, candidates whose CRS score meet or exceed the CRS cut-off score will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.

Three immigration streams are managed under the Express Entry and they are:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

What are the Requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Program?

  • You must have a valid job offer which is a full-time
  • You must have a skilled work experience of at least two years in the skilled trade
  • An educational qualification is not necessary but it will boost your score and chances
  • You must have fluency in the languages in Canada that is English and French and will need to pass the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test.
  • You must have no criminal record and also have sound health

The Provincial Nominee Program

This is another immigration program through which you can immigrate to Canada as it is designed to help the provinces in Canada to help fill up labour shortages in the provinces and there is a cooperation with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) which is the immigration department as regards to this program.

Each of the participating provinces in Canada set out its own requirements and is responsible for nominating candidates but this depends on the eligibility of the candidates and if they meet the requirement of the provinces’ nomination program and then the Canadian Government through the IRCC will then approve the candidates invitation to Canada.

Painters are one of the most in-demand trade jobs in Canada presently and so almost all the provinces in Canada are in demand for painters. If you have enough work experience, it will be easy to get a job offer from an employer in any of the province you want to reside in as this is a requirement to be eligible for any of the Provincial Nominee Program.
